Rude Awakening

Sunday, the last day of my short break from University had arrived. My mom woke me up as I had promised to make breakfast that day. I started boiling some water and with help from my younger brother began poaching some eggs. The night before, I had defrosted some spinach and began heating that up in order to make an eggs benedict-florentine fusion more appropriately named Eggs Benedictine at Coras. The hollandaise sauce was whipped together in a blender because I didn't feel like going through the trouble of a double boiler which I later regretted. The sauce came out thinner than I expected and didn't blend the flavours as well as I hoped. Although the meal was good, it was not up to my standards of a good eggs benedict which I order nearly every time I go out for breakfast.

After church and packing I asked my parents if I could take the car up to Waterloo for the week seeing as my older brother went of a trip to New York City with his girlfriend for the week. They agreed, my mom a little worried seeing as it was my first trip to Waterloo alone. After stuffing the car to the brim, I headed off towards my dungeon room and another term.

Summer term, here I come.
